Complementary Training for

Undergraduate Students

INVITATION FOR REGISTRATION

Background

The University of Dodoma (UDOM) in collaboration with the Education Committee of the Egyptian African Company and the Egyptian – East African Business Council have the desire to implement a Complementary Training Programme to undergraduate students commencing October 2012. The Programme aims at enhancing soft skills that will be required at the workplace. Generally, the skills are not directly taught in the academic curriculum. Moreover, due to students’ limited budgets, students cannot afford to attend such programmes in specialised institutions.

The overall objective is to prepare our graduates for the job market both locally and internationally. Successful implementation will enable both local and foreign business companies to employ our local talents instead of recruiting from foreign labour markets.

Nature of Programmes

Focus will be on various skills building  themes, including: Communication skills; Writing proposals and reports; Business ethics; Business etiquette; Mastering the interview; Public speaking; and Management; etc. They will be offered at different times of the year, especially during weekends to avoid interruption with normal classes.

First Programme

·               Theme: Communication skills

·               Dates: From 27^th to 28^th October 2012

·               Venue: The University of Dodoma, College of Informatics and Virtual Education, Lecture Room No. 19.

·               Fee: No payment is required.

·               Award: Certificate of Attendance will be awarded.

·               Who qualifies: Final year students in any of the six Colleges of UDOM.

·               Registration: Interested Final Year Students should confirm their interest in writing by sending an email to: dosudom@ymail.com. The following particulars must be given: Full name as in the Students Identification Card; Students Registration Number; and Name of Degree Programme

·               Number of participants: The First Programme will accommodate 310 students only. Thus, students will be registered on First- Come First Served Basis.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO BOTH FIRST YEAR AND CONTINUING STUDENTS
2012/2013 ACCADEMIC YEAR

All students are required to note that:

1. All students are required to register with the NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE FUND (NHIF)

2. University of Dodoma Students Organisation (UDOSO) fee is 5,000/= per student per year.

3. UDOSO fee MUST be paid by ALL STUDENTS in CRDB Bank:

Please DO NOT pay UDOSO fee in any other Account (Only UDOSO fee is payable in this account).

4. In order to avoid unnecessary queue (long lines in the bank) you are all urged to pay all the required fees before coming to Dodoma.

5. You will be required to show proof of payments (Bank pay-in-slip) during registration.

6. Make sure you write your names on the Bank pay-in-slip.

What is "The University of Dodoma Students Organization" UDOSO

"The University of Dodoma Students Organization" (UDOSO) is a students association of which all students are automatically members by registration. The UDOSO Office is under the mentorship of the Office of Dean of Students. The Organization is an important link between students and the university management. The organization contributes in decision making on matters that affect students welfare, social activities, games and sports entertainment.

Main aims of UDOSO include:

To ensure academic and social well-being of UDOM students

To liaise with other Universities for exchange of ideas, knowledge and experiences so as to be aware of what is happening globally.

To represent students in the University participatory organs.

ANNOUNCEMENT TO CANDIDATES SELECTED TO JOIN FIRST YEAR STUDIES DURING ACADEMIC YEAR 2012/2013

          The University of Dodoma will commence its First Semester for 2012/13 academic year on          13^thOctober 2012.

         The venue for Reporting and Reception of First Year students will be the Jamhuri Stadium starting from 8 am – 6 pm.

         Orientation week will begin on Monday 15^th October 2012. Students are requested therefore,

         to report according to the dates indicated for their respective Colleges:

3. ORIGINAL Birth certificate (Affidavits will not be accepted).
4. Bank payment receipts for Tuition and Direct costs (includes accommodation)

RECEPTION ANNOUNCEMENT TO CONTINUING STUDENTS FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2012/2013

         The University of Dodoma will commence its First Semester classes for 2012/13 academic year          on 22^nd October 2012.

         The venue for Reporting and Reception of ALL CONTINUING students will be the Jamhuri Stadium starting from 8 am – 6 pm.

         Students are requested therefore to report according to the dates indicated for their respective Colleges:
